So here is the story on these:
There is a company that specializes in machining firearms components for military contracts. We have known them for years and have bought enough from them that they give us special access to some of their products. Occasionally, they have over runs from a project and I usually help them dispose of that product. These uppers come off the exact same machines and are cut to the exact same prints as the ones they make for Colt and FN. These were sent to the same anodizing company they use for their contracts. They only difference is a lack of dry film lube, they have not been T-Marked, and there is no CAGE code present.
- Most seem to be machined from 7075-T6 "Brass Aluminum Forging Enterprises" forgings
- "M4" marked above the gas tube hole
- Mil-Spec Type Type 3 Class 2 anodizing
- Fits all standard Mil-Spec dimensioned components
- Custom engraving available
Note: These forgings were intended for contract fulfillment. As such, cosmetic appearance is not as stringent as the commercial market. While the anodizing is perfect, there may be very small dents and markings in the actual forged surface that occurred during handling prior to plating. This is perfectly normal and pretty standard on parts intended for domestic and foriegn contract sales.
If added, T-Marks will be laser engraved in white
For custom logos, please check our our BCG page for examples or email us first with your logo idea. Logos will only be placed on the top rear of the receiver, just above the charging handle. Deep engraving destroys all anodizing and usually requires a coating or color fill to protect the exposed aluminum.
